Staying here was a bit of a mixed bag. I liked that the place was tucked away in a peaceful area, definitely a lovely spot for relaxing and enjoying nature. I appreciated having a secure place for my bike overnight, and getting an upgrade to a larger room was a pleasant surprise. the guesthouse felt old and outdated, so it could really benefit from some modern updates. It was also a bit awkward dealing with the host, who seemed unsure in social situations. the experience met my basic needs but left room for improvement.

The continental breakfast was sensational, had plenty of options. The staff was thoughtful and the room was airy. The location was marvellous, near the hills I wanted to climb, and the view was pleasant, too. Besides, it was close to Callander and Scotland.

The breakfast had standout quality, offering an enjoyable start to the day. The double room had a certain charm, though it was somewhat unkempt around the edges.
The hotel's exterior was scruffy, with unweeded planter boxes and neglected paintwork. The atmosphere felt cold and unwelcoming, highlighted by the unnerving nature of the host. The cleanliness underwhelmed, with noticeable hair and stains on the bedsheets.

Stayed in a double room that had a lovely clean feel and an amazing view. The bed was comfortable, and I actually slept really well. The historical charm of the room added a lot to the experience, and I liked how it was just a walk away from the park for food. Only downside was that the cleanliness of the outside of the hotel was a bit lacking, but the cozy vibe and friendly locals made up for it.
